Tamil or Saṃskṛta - Which is the oldest Language !  Our Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi ji has stated in a recent event that Tamil is older than Saṃskṛta. It has disappointed me. I, as a Samskritist, but a person with Tamil as mother tongue, feel that this could have been avoided.  In this connection I would like present two views for reflection, both connected with Shri Deendayal Upadhyaya, a fine thinker, one among the founding fathers of Jan Sangh and whom Shri Modiji him self considers as his guiding light - 1. This morning (04/02/2018) I saw a front page news in the New Indian Express. Vice Chancellor of Bharatiyar University, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, arrested being caught red handed while taking bribe from an Assistant Professor and trying to flush the bribe money in the wash room. Now contrast it with the following - Head of a very big Educational set up is called kulapati in Samskrta .
